Tom Smith has also left memories in the minds of people as the husband of Edith Bowman,  a Scottish radio DJ, and television presenter. The couple are blessed with two children; Rudy Brae Bowman Smith and Spike Bowman Smith, the surviving family.

Tom Smith died on April 6, 2022, at the age of 50.

Tom Smith died from colon cancer he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. The initial diagnosis was in 2019 and he battled to survive but finally gave in.
