Thomas Paul Poberezny, an American aerobatics champion, served as president of the Experimental Aircraft Association from 1989 to 2010 and chairman of the annual Experimental Aircraft Association Fly-In and Convention from 1977 to 2011.
He presided over a period of rapid expansion for the association and convention. He was 75.

Following a brief illness, Poberezny passed at about 2:00 a.m. on Monday, according to Dick Knapisnki, the organization’s director of communications.
With his own accomplishments and the expansion of EAA, particularly the building of the current EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh, the Young Eagles program, and Sport Pilot almost 20 years ago, Tom has left a lasting legacy in the aviation industry.
