Ama Atta, a two-year-old infant, is said to have perished after being struck by a falling tree.
Reports state that the incident happened while the deceased’s mother, Ama Ntiwaa, was returning from the farm with her daughter on her back.
Prince Adjei, an assemblyman from Assin Juaso, told Alfred Amoh of Adom News that the incident had occurred.
He described how the mother of two opted to hurry home with her kids when the tree crashed on them, because it was starting to rain a lot.
The toddler, according to Mr. Adjei, passed away instantly, while her mother and sister, Esi Kraa, age three, suffered severe injuries.
At the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, the mother, Ama Ntiwaa, is reportedly in critical condition.
The deceased person’s body has been placed in the hospital morgue in the interim.
