Tjahjo Kumolo was a politician from Indonesia who was the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.

He formerly served as Minister of Home Affairs in President Joko Widodo’s Working Cabinet from 2014 to 2019.

He had been a staunch supporter of former President Megawati Sukarnoputri and a prominent member of her Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

Multiple organ failure caused by asthenia, lung infection, diabetes, and gout was his cause of death. 
Kumolo died on July 1, 2022, after being hospitalized for two weeks at Jakarta’s Abdi WaluyHospital.
Between 1987 to 1997, he served two terms in the DPR during former President Suharto’s New Order government.

Between 2010 and 2015, he was Secretary-General of the PDI-P, and between 1999 and 2014, he was a member of the People’s Representative Council (DPR), where he was the speaker of his party’s group until his replacement by later colleague Minister Puan Maharani.

He was married to Erni Guntarti, with whom he had three children.
