American activist, lecturer, and author Tim Ballard is also known professionally as Timothy Ballard. He served as a special agent in the US Department of Homeland Security after working for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Ballard developed and was the first CEO of Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R. ), an anti-sex trafficking organization.
Ballard established O.U.R., a nonprofit organization, in 2013, and he has credited it with saving thousands of victims of human trafficking. Ballard was appointed to the Advisory Council for the White House Public-Private Partnership to End Human Trafficking in 2019, but the council was later disbanded.
O.U.R. and Ballard split up at the start of 2023. In addition to his work with O.U.R., he formerly held the position of CEO at The Nazarene Fund, a Christian organization backed by Glenn Beck. The action film “Sound of Freedom” with Jim Caviezel as the lead was based on a screenplay by Ballard. The movie was announced in 2018 and released in theatres in 2023. Ballard made headlines in September 2023 when he finally spoke his opinion in response to the condemnation by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
