On December 14, 1973, a Vietnamese actress named Thuy Trang was born. She died on September 3, 2001. She became well-known for playing Trini Kwan, the first Yellow Ranger, in the original cast of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series.

Thuy Trang was born in South Vietnam’s Saigon, which is today known as Ho Chi Minh City. She has a sister and two brothers.

Trang was selected for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, which is her first significant role, after competing against more than 500 other performers in an audition process.

The in-costume fight scenes were made using clips from the legendary Japanese television series Super Sentai, with Trang’s voice over the action. Like the other cast members, Trang worked primarily on her assignments while she wasn’t donning a Power Rangers uniform.

Trang had an appearance in 80 episodes of the program, spanning the entire first season as well as the first 20 episodes of the second.

She performed several of her own stunts and suffered numerous injuries while working. Trang, along with fellow cast members Austin St. John and Walter Emanuel Jones, left Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in the middle of the second season due to contractual and financial problems. The Yellow Ranger is now Karan Ashley.
