Three lives lost after vehicle plunges into river near Enyiresi

Tragedy struck near Enyiresi, Eastern Region as three individuals lost their lives in a horrifying incident that took place on Friday, May 19, 2023.

The victims were passengers in a private Hyundai Sonata car bearing the registration number GS 7776-19.

Reports have it that the journey of these commuters took a fatal turn when the vehicle they were cruising veered off the road and plunged into a river along the busy Accra to Kumasi highway.

Prompt emergency response units, including personnel from the National Ambulance Service and Ghana National Fire Service, were swiftly deployed to the scene in no time to rescue the situation.

The team was successful in recovering the bodies of the deceased from the depths of the river.

Eyewitnesses present at the time of the accident revealed that the driver of the ill-fated Hyundai Sonata lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a disastrous head-on collision with a Sprinter bus that had recklessly overtaken another vehicle.

In an unfortunate sequence of events, the Sonata somersaulted uncontrollably before ultimately plunging into the nearby river, claiming the lives of all three occupants.
