Additionally, they are charged with sexual extortion under Section 66(1) of the Cybersecurity Act 2020.

“1. EDEM SAVIOUR KETTI, 29, FILMMAKER.

“2. CANDYLOVE KWAKYEWAA ABABIO, 31, TRADER.

“3. Henry Amponsah @ Henry Fitzgerald, at large:

“For that, you on or before 3 December 2023 at Accra in the Greater Accra Region and within the jurisdiction of this Court did intentionally distribute prohibited visual recording of one Serwaa Amihere without her consent on social media handles,” according to a portion of the court documents.

The event is believed to have come to light after a video of Serwaa Amihere in bed with a man known as Henry Fitz became viral on social media. It was first assumed that the video was shot before to the man’s marriage, which occurred in 2019.

According to sources, the situation began when Serwaa Amihere’s makeup artist was approached and requested to send a message to the journalist to pay GH₵5,000 to stop the spread of pornographic images. Threats intensified, with an anonymous figure demanding GH₵20,000.

Despite Serwaa Amihere’s compliance with the original demand, the accused released the video. Following these occurrences, Amihere reported the incident to police, which resulted in the arrest of Edem Saviour Ketti. Efforts are underway to arrest Henry Fitz, who remains at large as the inquiry continues.
