In the Polish capital of Warsaw, a 22-year-old man was arrested for disguising himself as a mannequin in a shop window to steal jewelry.

The act was captured in photos released by the Warsaw police, showing the young man standing behind a storefront window, blending in seamlessly with the mannequins.

Astonishingly, both store employees and shoppers failed to recognize anything amiss as he lurked among the mannequins.

According to the police, after the store’s closing hours, the suspect roamed through various departments before ultimately targeting a jewelry stand.

The police statement described the sequence of events, “With a bag in his hand, he stood still in front of a shop window, pretending to be a display mannequin.

When he felt safe, he went hunting and robbed the island of jewelry.” His luck eventually ran out when security staff finally spotted him.

This audacious thief is also accused of thefts in another shopping mall, where he reportedly attempted to steal cash and other items after closing.

As a result, he now faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. In a similar incident, he dined late at a restaurant in a different shopping center, swapped clothes, and was caught on CCTV attempting to slip under a partially open shutter in a clothing store.
