As part of his “After Hours til Dawn Tour,” the Canadian artist performed at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Midway through the song “Can’t Feel My Face,” he literally paused his performance and walked off stage, only to return to tell the startled crowd that he had to “end the show.”

“I can’t give you the show I’d like to offer you right now,” he went on.

The singer-songwriter, whose actual name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, stated that he wanted to ensure that everyone’s money was returned and that he would put on another event “very soon.”

“I want to personally apologise, I’m really sorry, I love you guys so much,” he told the audience.

The 32-year-old apologised to fans on his social media sites, telling his 16.6 million Twitter followers: “I’m heartbroken since my voice went out during the first song.

“My heart plummeted as I felt it go. “Please accept my heartfelt apologies to my admirers here; I vow to make it up to you with a new date.”
