A new office complex owned by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) was opened at Kpetoe, in the Volta Region’s Agotime-Ziope District.
The districts of Agotime-Ziope and Adaklu will be served by the Adaklu-Anyigbe zone office.
At the event, four brand-new Toyota Hilux pickup trucks for the authority’s South Dayi, Adaklu Anyigbe, Ketu North, and Kpando offices were also given out.
Modern, well-equipped buildings are essential for the NHIA to provide services efficiently, according to Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, the organization’s chief executive officer, who presided over the ceremony last Friday.
For the facility to continue serving the public for many years, he pleaded with the office staff to take the best possible care of it.
Dr. Boye disclosed that the NHIA soon intended to open offices of a similar nature in other regions of the nation.
He encouraged National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) participants to use the MyNHISApp app on their smartphones so they can quickly and easily access NHIA services from the comfort of their homes.
In the meantime, Dr. Boye said that the NHIA had achieved significant progress in the timely processing of claims and payments, which were previously completed more than a year ago.
He mentioned that in the last three months, the authority had paid about GH¢800 million in claims. The office structure and the cars, according to Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, who made the vehicle presentation, attested to the accomplishments of the NHIS recently.
He encouraged individuals who were not covered by the program to sign up as soon as possible and vowed the Regional Coordinating Council’s strong commitment to helping the NHIA continue to be a success in the area.
Joseph Homenya, Regional Director of NHIA, expressed his satisfaction with the office complex and that it will spur employees to put in more effort. According to him, work on three other office complex projects was being done in the districts of Akatsi, South Tongu, and North Tongu.
