Founder of the National Interest Movement (NIM), Dr Michael Abu Sakara Foster, has expressed disappointment in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s performance, stating that he has not met the high expectations of Ghanaians.

In an interview with Keminni Amanor on Hot Issues on TV3, Dr. Abu Sakara acknowledged some positive initiatives by the government, such as the Free SHS program. However, he emphasized that the overall economic conditions and progress under the current administration have fallen short of what was anticipated by the people.

He also pointed out that a recent Global InfoAnalytics survey suggests a shift in Ghanaian politics, with a significant number of citizens moving away from traditional parties. Dr. Abu Sakara expressed confidence in the potential of the ‘Alliance for Revolutionary Change’ (ARC) formed between himself and Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen of the Movement for Change (M4C).

According to the survey, the main opposition candidate, John Dramani Mahama, leads the race for the presidency in 2025 with 54.3%, followed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at 34.9%, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten at 7.5%, Nana Kwame Bediako at 2.3%, and other candidates at 1%.

Dr. Abu Sakara believes that the alliance between himself and Alan Kyerematen will have a positive impact on their electoral prospects, and he anticipates a significant boost in their support in future polls.

As the political landscape in Ghana continues to evolve, Dr. Abu Sakara is optimistic about the growing interest in non-aligned parties and the potential for real change in the upcoming elections.
