Amerado Burner’s hit song “Kweku Ananse” has been making waves in the Ghanaian music industry, but there was a hiccup in its nomination for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The TGMA Board initially nominated the remix version of the song, causing the original version to be overlooked in the most popular song of the year category.

After receiving feedback from Amerado and other artists, the board conducted a review and admitted their error in nominating the wrong version of the song. They have now corrected this mistake and nominated the original version of “Kweku Ananse” for the Best Highlife Category and Most Popular Song of the Year Category.

In addition to this, there was also an issue with the nomination of O’ Kenneth’s song “Lonely Road”, which was initially filed as a featured work. However, it was clarified that the song was actually a joint project by O’Kenneth and Xlim Kid, not a feature. The board has rectified this error and updated the nomination to reflect “Lonely Road by O’ Kenneth and Xlim Kid.”

Robert Klah, representing the 25th TGMA Board, expressed gratitude to the music community for their active participation in the Errors & Omissions window. He reassured stakeholders of the board’s commitment to fairness and transparency in the awards process, acknowledging their valuable contributions over the past 25 years.

These adjustments showcase the dedication of the TGMA Board to uphold integrity in the music awards process and ensure that deserving artists receive the recognition they deserve. Congratulations to Amerado and O’ Kenneth for their well-deserved nominations in the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
