Telecel Ghana Music Awards nominee Amerado has expressed satisfaction with the revisions made by the awards board to the nominations list. The board conducted a review of the initially announced list in March 2024 due to concerns about errors and omissions.
As a result of the review, Amerado received a nomination in the Most Popular Song of the Year category for his song ‘Kwaku Ananse.’ Additionally, the original version of the song was included in the Best Highlife Song category, replacing the remix version.
Speaking about the changes, Amerado stated that he was pleased to see his song receive recognition in one of the award scheme’s major categories. He also mentioned that he would have liked to be recognized in the Songwriter of the Year category but would continue to work harder.
The musician expressed conflicting emotions when he initially saw that he had not been nominated in certain categories but was encouraged by the support he received from his fans. This support helped push for a review of the nominations list.
In related news, Charterhouse recently confirmed corrections to two entries, including the song “Lonely Road” by O’Kenneth & Xlim Kid. The nominees for new categories, such as Producer of the Year, Best Video Director, and Audio Engineer of the Year, have also been released.
The Producer of the Year award will see six producers, including Kuami Eugene and Killbeatz, competing for the prestigious title. Additionally, some of Ghana’s best directors who have worked with top artists like Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, and Kuami Eugene are vying for the Best Director Awards.
