Popular Nigerian singer Teniola Apata known professionally on stage as Teni is reported to have escaped a kidnapping attempt.
A video that has gone viral on social media shows how Teni left the stage at an event held at Buguma Town, Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Her performance at the event was cut short for her to escape and save her life but the fans were not happy with that.
There were gunshots which led to the conclusion that Teni was being kidnapped.
Meanwhile, Teni has denied claims that she was being kidnapped.
According to her, It all happened so fast. There was no incidence of attempted kidnap,” the singer wrote on her Instagram page.
She also added that “ a fight started out backstage and that led to a stampede.”
The Nigerian police have also refuted the reports of kidnap. They reveal that Teni the security operatives rescued Yeni unhurt.
