Ten new faces to expect in Parliament next year

The 2016 election is still ongoing, however, most of the results for the Parliamentary elections have ended and been declared.

This year’s elections have recorded several casualties and therefore Parliament will be receiving new entrants who are coming into breath new life into the law making Arm of Government.

Here are some new faces to expect in Parliament when the noble house reconvenes next year.

The Marketing guru will be representing the people of Awutu Senya West for the next four years. George was given the nod after he ended the long reign of Hannah Tetteh by beating her with 28,867 as against 25,664 polled by Hannah Tetteh.

The Broadcaster will be representing the people of Ofoase Ayeribi in the Eastern region. Mr. Nkrumah was overwhelmingly endorsed by his people with 17,141 of the votes cast on the day.

The people of Korle Klottey have elected daughter of Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings as their representative in Parliament next year. Zenator beat her contenders with 8,497 votes.

Kwabre East Constituency will be represented by Miss Francisca-Mensah in next year’s parliament. The law Student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science andTechnology will also be the youngest Member of Parliament when the noble house reconvenes.

Frank Fuseini Adongo

Fuseini Frank Adongo will be representing the people of Bawku West constituency in Parliament after he retired Cletus Avoka who has been in power for over a decade. Fuseini polled 22,361 to win this year’s election.

Beautician, Ama Sey will represent the people of the Akwatia constituency in Parliament next year. She knocked Baba Jamal out of office after just a term in Parliament. Ama Sey polled 21,433 an indication of an overwhelming support from her constituents.

Dr. Clement Apaak heads to Parliament as the representative of the people of Builsa South. He beat incumbent Alhassan Azong by polling 7666 of the votes cast on the day.

Africa’s best Mayor will be in Parliament to represent the people of Ablekuma South. Accra’s mayor beat NPP’s Jerry Ahmed Shiab to take the seat. He polled 19, 984 votes.

Bolgatanga Central also has a new Member of Parliament. Isaac Adongo will represent the people of the Bolgatanga Central. Adongo beat of stiff opposition from NPP’s Rex Asanga and PNC’s Thomas Akurugu.

He will be representing the people of Nkoranza South constituency when Parliament reconvenes next year.
