Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, who is better known by her stage name Tems, has exciting news for her fans.

She recently announced the upcoming release of her debut album, titled ‘Born in the Wild’. The ‘Damages’ hitmaker shared a captivating video snippet from the album’s visuals on Instagram, creating anticipation among her followers. While the exact release date was not revealed, Tems confirmed that the album is set to launch in May 2024.

The buzz surrounding the album escalated after Tems performed at the 2024 Coachella, where she teased one of the tracks. This announcement reaffirmed her previous assurance that the project would be unveiled in 2024. Tems’ musical journey gained momentum in 2020 with her collaboration with Wizkid on the chart-topping track ‘Essence’. Later that year, she released her debut extended play (EP) titled ‘For Broken Ears’.

Since then, Tems has established a strong presence in the Nigerian music scene, earning numerous awards and accolades.

In a significant achievement, she won her first Grammy award in February 2023 in the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category for her contribution to ‘Wait for U’, a hit song by Future featuring Drake.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Born in the Wild’ and are excited to see what Tems has in store for them with her debut album.
