The Polish logistics company Fracht FWO Polska has announced the start of a deal to supply a railway set made by PESA Bydgoszcz for the Ghana Railway Company Limited.
The news is a major step in improving Ghana’s rail system, especially with the arrival of eco-friendly trains the first on the continent.
At a ceremony earlier this month in Poland, the new train which was manufactured expressly for Ghanaian railway transportation was formally turned over to the Ghanaian government.
It is intended to service passenger traffic on the recently built standard-gauge Tema-Mpakadan railway line, which links Mpakadan River Port with Tema Seaport.
Produced by PESA, the cars are fitted with state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly Stage V engines and adhere to the most recent European exhaust pollution regulations, demonstrating a dedication to sustainable mobility.
The train traveled by water to Ghana before being delivered to Hamburg, Germany, using specially designed trailers. It will then be transported to the port of Tema in Ghana.
Andrzej Bułka, President of the Management Board of Fracht FWO, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership with PESA and emphasized its importance in promoting the development of rail infrastructure in Africa.
Fracht FWO Polska’s Business Development Director, Jarosław Jankowski, emphasized that the company is prepared to guarantee efficient and secure transportation globally.
