A nurse working at the Tamale Teaching Hospital’s Emergency Burns Unit, Zeinab Muhammad Ali, has been sentenced to six years imprisonment with hard labor for pouring boiling water on her husband.
The incident occurred during a disagreement with her husband, who refused to let her use his car.
Zeinab Muhammad Ali was arrested and brought before the Tamale High Court, where she was charged with causing harm. The presiding judge, Justice Eric Ansah Ankomah, handed down the sentence as punishment for her actions.
Meanwhile, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and is under observation. The incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about domestic violence in the region.
