Takkarist Jaune McKinley, an outside linebacker selected in the 1995 NFL Draft, was born on November 2, 1995. In the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons selected him from UCLA’s football team.
As an outside linebacker who received an invite to the NFL Combine, McKinley completed all of the activities with the exception of the three-cone and short shuttle. After the combine, he underwent surgery to fix a fractured shoulder socket and a torn labrum.
He wouldn’t be able to take part in UCLA’s Pro Day because his recovery would take four to six months. McKinley was predicted by NFL draft experts to go in the first or second round.
The Atlanta Falcons selected McKinley in the first round (26th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. McKinley committed to a four-year, $10.21 million deal on May 11 that included a $5.57 million signing bonus and a $7.89 million guarantee.
He participated in all 16 contests and finished second on the squad behind Adrian Clayborn with 20 tackles and six sacks, good for fourth place among rookies in the league.
