Kirshnik Khari Ball, better known as the American rapper Takeoff, lived from June 18, 1994, to November 1, 2022.
His most well-known connection was to the hip-hop group Migos, which also included his uncle Quavo and Offset’s first cousin once removed. Along with other family members, his mother, Quavo, and Offset helped raise him in Lawrenceville.
In the seventh grade, he began creating beats and rhythms, but it wasn’t until 2011 that he began producing music on a professional level.
Takeoff started rapping about 2008, along with Quavo and Offset, two members of his family. The group’s original stage name was Polo Club, but they later changed it to Migos. On August 25, 2011, a mixtape of the group’s first full-length project, Juug Season, became released.
On June 1st, 2012, the mixtape No Label became available.
Following the release of their 2013 hit “Versace,” Migos gained popularity. Following Drake’s remix, the song peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and 31 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Chris Brown, Young Thug, and Murda Beatz all made brief appearances on their first studio album, Yung Rich Nation, which was released in July 2015. According to Billboard 200, the album peaked at number 17.
The song “Bad and Boujee” by Migos and Lil Uzi Vert, which peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 during the week of January 21, 2017, is the group’s first number-one single of 2016.
