Takara was the younger of two children born in Washington, DC. She had little interest in politics, therefore she spent the majority of her teens as a student-athlete, dreaming of becoming an Olympic gymnast and a lawyer.
Takara made her stage debut at the age of seven as “Orchid” in her school’s production of Rose Petal’s Place. However, she had no intention of becoming an actor. In actuality, she was shy and despised performing in front of crowds, and her “gripping performance” did not change her mind.
She has appeared on television, in film, on the web, and on the stage. Takara received the 2013 Emerging Artist Award in Media Arts in Atlanta before moving on to co-host “The Big Chair Podcast” in Washington DC in 2019.
