Some Tabre residents, who live in the Ashanti region’s Atwima Nwabiagya North District, are upset about the seepage of waste from a privately owned public restroom in their neighborhood.
If the overflowing septic tank is not emptied as quickly as feasible, they fear for their health.
The owners of the restroom facility, according to the locals, have refused to remove the restroom as the seepage has spread around the town since 2009.
Residents who talked with AdomNews expressed concern that the circumstances would cause a disease breakout in the neighborhood. They are pleading with the government to assist in resolving the issue.
One of them remarked, “There is a school behind the seepage fecal matter which is not good for their health.”
To find a long-term solution to the problem, Kwame Agyei, the assemblyman for the Tabre electoral area, said he would be speaking with the facility’s owner.
“I recently took office, and now that I’m facing challenges, I’ll try my hardest to find a solution so that the people of Tabre can enjoy better health,” he declared.
