British film director and cinematographer, and the first British Film Commissioner, Sir Sydney H. Wylie Samuelson, has passed away at the age of 97.
He was the first President of the UK Jewish Film Festival and maintained his position until 2005. In addition, in 2010, he was honored as a UKJFF Honorary Lifetime Patron.
