Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in New York City’s Times Square recently, following a violent clash between Israel and Hamas.
However, amidst the protests, a disturbing symbol was displayed when one protester held up a swastika.
Tensions ran high as counter-protesters, waving Israeli flags, confronted around 300 pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
New York City is home to the largest Jewish population globally, making the use of the swastika particularly offensive, as it was the symbol used by Adolf Hitler during the Holocaust when millions of Jews were tragically murdered.
In the midst of the commotion, pro-Palestine protesters chanted “free Palestine,” while counter-protesters responded with anger, accusing them of supporting “murderers.”
As the Palestinian group continued to grow in Times Square, a group of approximately 70 Israeli protesters gathered behind a metal fence enforced by the NYPD.
