Stuart Townsend is an Irish actor and a father of two children.
He portrayed Lestat de Lioncourt in the film adaptation of Anne Rice’s Queen of the Damned (2002), and Dorian Gray in Alan Moore’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003). In 2007, he directed the film Battle in Seattle.
Stuart attended the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin, and made his non-professional stage debut in its 1993 production of Colin Teevan’s Tear Up The Black Sail.
The following year he made his professional stage debut in True Lines, directed by John Crowley.

Stuart Townsend has two children with longtime girlfriend Agatha Araya. Their names are Desmond and Ezra Townsend.
Stuart and Agatha lived together for five good years; from 2013 to 2018. The following year after their separation, Stuart allegedly got physical with Agatha and refused to let her leave the house during a heated row. He was later arrested after a domestic dispute.
Townsend also dated actress Charlize Theron after meeting her on the set of 2002’s ‘Trapped’ movie. The couple lived together in Los Angeles and Ireland.
He said he considers his partnership with Charlize as marriage without an actual marriage ceremony, with Townsend stating, “We didn’t have a ceremony. I don’t need a certificate or the state or the church to say otherwise.”
