American actor and director Stuart Margolin was born on January 31, 1940, and passed away on December 12, 2022, at the ripe age of 82.

His portrayal as Evelyn “Angel” Martin in the 70s television series The Rockford Files earned him two Emmy Awards.

Margolin, who died in his bed from natural causes, is most known for helming episodes of Wonder Woman, Northern Exposure, Bret Maverick, Quantum Leap, The Love Boat, and Magnum, P.I. Margolin had several TV appearances in Canada, most notably in the western series Sara from the 70s.

Aside from the active roles he played in the Rockford Files as an actor, he directed a few episodes as well. The episodes Friends and Foul Play, Caledonia – It’s Worth a Fortune!, and Dirty Money, Black Light were all directed by Margolin.

For directing children’s movies and a drama series, he received two Directors Guild of America Awards. Along with James Garner, Margot Kidder, and John Lithgow, he co-wrote, produced, and scored The Glitter Dome for HBO Pictures. He received a second DGA Award nomination for the 1998 movie The Sweetest Gift.
