The great Anambra State government has exceptionally rescued Miss Tania Ijeoma Okpala, an outstanding former US-based tennis professional champion who was found wandering the street soliciting money.
Meanwhile, Okpala was over the weekend captured through her endurances mentioned earlier by an eyewitnessed personality whose identities are not given to the public at the moment.
Miss Okpala looked distressed and unstable in her current situation; this, however, prompted the response by the Anambra State Government to rescue, rehabilitate, and reunite her with her family.
Ify Obinabo, the commissioner of women’s affairs, claims that the ministry launched the entire operation in response to a directive from the wife and Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
A statement on the ministry’s social media page said,
“Mrs. Soludo informed Tania over the phone that she would receive the best treatment and rehabilitation to enable and assist her in making a full recovery, and she assured her that the state government would not abandon her.”
“She further stated that Ms. Okpala, whose mother was from Belarus, stated she lost her mother to cancer a few years ago and has not been able to move on from her passing ever since.”
In addition, the aforementioned statement added that the former US-based tennis champion has a six-year-old daughter who is currently staying with her father in Nkpologwu.
She urges the governor’s wife to help her reunite with her daughter.
