Decorated Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy Burniton has claimed that he invented the contemporary genre now known as Afro Dancehall music.
In a tweet he delivered hours ago, the Kpo K3k3 hit maker made this claim on the premise that he was the first person to make mention of Afro Dancehall music, which was in the year 2009.
He further stated that he won the BET Award in 2015 because of his invention of the genre.
According to Stonebwoy, he has been spearheading the penetration of Afro Dancehall into the music market for a decade now.
Stonebwoy explained that the genre is a fusion of Afrobeat and Dancehall music. He also expressed delight that some of his fellow artistes are subscribing to the genre.
Stonebwoy is making these assertions at the back of Ambulley’s advice to him to quit Dancehall muisc and do ‘Borboorbor’ because the latter, in his opinion will rather project Stonebwoy’s identity/origin to the world.
