Steve Worster (July 8, 1949 – August 13, 2022) was a professional football player from the United States who played fullback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Texas Longhorns under coach Darrell Royal after an outstanding prep career. Worster was a founding member of the wishbone formation and won two national championships with the Longhorns.
Worster attended Bridge City High School in Bridge City, Texas, and was heavily recruited to play football for several schools after graduating.
After careful consideration, he accepted a scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, where he played for coach Darrell Royal.
Worster was inducted into the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame and the Texas Longhorn Hall of Fame.
It was announced that Worster passed away on August 13, 2022.
