Stephen Lang, who was born on July 11, 1952, is best known for his performance in the 2003 films Gods and Generals and for playing the lead role in James Cameron’s Avatar.

He was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the 1989 film Last Exit to Brooklyn, for which he received a lot of praise. However, the film didn’t get to a large enough audience to be a true hit because of its limited release.

In the theater, he has won numerous awards, including the Drama Desk and Helen Hayes prizes. Between 1986 and 2014, he appeared in shows like Crime Story, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Outer Limits, and The Fugitive, among others.

He appeared in well over 40 movies between 1985 and 2014. Before graduating from Swarthmore Institution, a private liberal arts college in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, in 1973 with a degree in English Literature, Lang attended a Quaker boarding school (high school) in Newton, Pennsylvania.

In honor of his remarkable career in theater, television, and film, his alma mater gave him an honorary college degree on May 30, 2010. Since June 1st, 1980, Lang has been married to costume designer Kristina Watson. Each of them has four.
