The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, is rallying Ghanaians to throw their support behind the party’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming elections. Ahiagbah believes that a Bawumia-led administration holds the key to sustainable economic growth, job creation, and accelerated development in the country.

In a statement shared on his platform, Ahiagbah emphasized the importance of choosing progress over regression, highlighting the potential for Ghana to achieve significant strides under the leadership of Dr. Bawumia. He urged the electorate to reject fear-mongering tactics employed by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and instead opt for the NPP, a team that he believes can deliver on its promises.

One of the key initiatives outlined by Ahiagbah is Dr. Bawumia’s plan to collaborate with the private sector to train one million Ghanaian youth in IT skills such as software development. This strategic move aims to equip the younger generation with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in the digital space and tap into global job opportunities, particularly in the tech sector.

Ahiagbah also emphasized the importance of digitalization in empowering Ghanaian youth to compete on a global scale. By harnessing digital technologies and investing in STEM education, robotics, and artificial intelligence, Dr. Bawumia envisions a Ghana where technology drives growth and innovation across various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, education, manufacturing, fintech, and public service delivery.

Furthermore, Ahiagbah highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to bridging the digital divide and achieving near-universal internet penetration in Ghana. The NPP flagbearer aims to build a pool of digital talent to meet the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, creating job opportunities for thousands of young people and promoting vocational and technical education in collaboration with the private sector.

In conclusion, Ahiagbah stressed the NPP’s focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the establishment of a National Open University Ghana to provide specialized skills training in partnership with industry stakeholders. The party’s vision for a digitalized and technologically advanced Ghana under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership represents a promising pathway towards inclusive economic growth and prosperity for all.
