The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, is calling on Ghanaians to support Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer of the party in the upcoming elections. Ahiagbah emphasized that a Bawumia administration is committed to ensuring sustainable economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and fostering accelerated development in the country.
Ahiagbah took to his X platform to urge Ghanaians to choose progress by voting for Bawumia and the NPP. He dismissed the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party that offers nothing but fear disguised as improvement. Ahiagbah encouraged the electorate to see through the deception and instead opt for a leadership team that can deliver on its promises.
Furthermore, Ahiagbah highlighted Bawumia’s plans to partner with the private sector to train one million Ghanaian youth in information technology skills, particularly software development. This initiative aims to equip the youth with the necessary expertise to compete in the global job market and leverage the opportunities presented by the 4th industrial revolution.
Ahiagbah emphasized the importance of digitalization in providing Ghanaian youth with a competitive edge on the international stage. He reiterated Bawumia’s commitment to leveraging digital technology, STEM, robotics, and artificial intelligence for the transformation of key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, manufacturing, fintech, and public service delivery. Bawumia also aims to bridge the digital divide by achieving close to 100% internet penetration in the country.
In addition to focusing on digital talent development, Bawumia’s administration plans to prioritize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and support the establishment of a National Open University Ghana in collaboration with the private sector. The emphasis will be on providing technical and vocational skills as well as ICT training to empower the youth and create job opportunities.
Overall, Ahiagbah’s message resonates with the vision of a technologically advanced and economically prosperous Ghana under the leadership of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. The NPP’s platform promises a future where innovation, skill development, and inclusive growth are at the forefront of national development efforts.
