The Global Evangelical Mission Hospital in the Ejisu Municipality is facing a challenging situation with a growing number of vulnerable patients who cannot afford to pay for their medical treatment.
The hospital is using its limited resources to care for these patients and cover unpaid bills, putting a strain on their ability to provide quality healthcare services.
To help alleviate this burden, StarLife Assurance has made a donation of medical supplies to the hospital’s maternity ward. The donation includes essential items such as infrared thermometers, surgical gloves, scales, and sanitary materials, which will assist in improving the hospital’s ability to deliver quality care.
Faith Amanfo, the hospital administrator, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the importance of support from philanthropists and authorities in ensuring the hospital can continue to fulfill its mission of providing healthcare to those in need. He mentioned that many patients come to the hospital without any financial means, and the hospital often has to absorb the cost of their treatment.
In addition to the medical supplies, StarLife Assurance also made a cash donation to cover the unpaid bills of two vulnerable new mothers, enabling them to return home without the financial burden of medical expenses. This gesture reflects the company’s commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need.
The partnership between StarLife Assurance and the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on this initiative coincided with Mother’s Day celebrations, highlighting the importance of supporting maternity wards and nursing mothers in mission hospitals.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Council, Apostle Dr. Bright Bill Kwabla Sosu, commended the initiative and called on other stakeholders to support struggling health facilities to ensure they can continue to provide essential healthcare services.
