Renowned British-Canadian actor Alan Scarfe has passed away at the age of 77 after battling colon cancer. The star, known for his roles in Star Trek, Lethal Weapon, and several other films and theatre productions, died at his home in Canada on April 28.

Scarfe, who played two Romulan characters in Star Trek: The Next Generation, also appeared in Star Trek: Voyager and Lethal Weapon III alongside Mel Gibson. He leaves behind his children, daughter Antonia “Tosia” and son-in-law Austin, who cared for him during his final months. Scarfe is also survived by his son, Jonathan Scarfe, brother Colin, and grandchildren Kai and Hunter.

Born in Harpenden, England, Scarfe immigrated to Canada with his family and later returned to the UK to study drama. Over the course of his career, he starred in over 100 theatre productions, directed plays, and transitioned to writing in his later years. In 2019, Scarfe won an award for his first novel, The Revelation of Jack the Ripper.

Scarfe was married to fellow Star Trek actor Barbara March, who played Lursa in the series. The couple moved to Los Angeles in 1989 after welcoming their daughter Tonia. March sadly passed away from cancer in 2019.

The actor’s obituary praised the care and support provided by Tosia and Austin, stating that Scarfe would have been “lost” without them in his final days. His legacy lives on through his extensive body of work and the impact he made on the entertainment industry.
