According to multiple Spanish media outlets, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Jules Kounde ahead of a potential £47 million transfer.
After a last-minute deal fell through last summer, the Blues have had a long-standing interest in the Frenchman. Kounde was said to be enraged, with his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, according to rumors, the center-back could still get his dream move after a deal was said to have been reached between the player and the club.
And Sevilla now anticipates a formal bid, which is expected to be slightly higher than the £42.8m Chelsea offered last summer.
Personal terms have reportedly already been agreed upon with Kounde, who has also been linked with the European giants; Barcelona and PSG.
And, while the Spanish and French clubs are still vying for his signature, Chelsea has emerged as the clear frontrunner.
Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is said to be assembling a completely new backline after free agents Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left after last season.
Already, Kalidou Koulibaly has joined from Napoli for £34 million, becoming the club’s second signing after £50 million Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea is still interested in PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe, but they have missed out on Matthijs de Ligt, who is set to join Bayern Munich.
