A Brazilian stalker, Myra Carvalho, has been sentenced to 14 weeks in prison for inundating British pop star Harry Styles with an astonishing 8,000 cards in just one month.
Following a guilty plea to charges of stalking that caused “serious alarm or distress,” the verdict was delivered at Harrow Crown Court.
Carvalho has also been issued a 10-year restraining order prohibiting her from attending events involving Styles or making any contact with him.
This order includes areas of north-west London and includes a victim surcharge of £134. It’s a cautionary tale of the consequences of obsessive behaviour towards celebrities.
