Stage acting makes a complete actor, says Fiifi Coleman

Actor Fiifi Coleman attributes his ability to being a complete actor to the stage play genre, since it requires a full effort to be in character. This has given him a sense of both settings.

Actor who has acted in numerous movies, the Piece of Me star believes that playing on stage is more difficult than acting in movies since it requires performers to have a great degree of expertise, imagination, and flexibility.

“A stage play is a live performance in front of an audience and the actors do not have the luxury enjoyed in movies where a scene can be taken over and over again or edited to fix mistakes,” Fiifii explained himself in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.

“When you finally approach your audience, the anxiety that overcomes you at first sight of the crowd might sometimes even cause you to forget your lines, but that doesn’t happen.

Actors need to be quick thinkers and able to maintain character despite audience distractions and missteps. That can be rather difficult, I must admit,” he remarked.

Furthermore, Fiifi, who will always prefer stage acting over film acting, noted that because the former typically has less sets and props than film, actors must rely more on their imagination and inventiveness, which may be quite difficult, to bring the narrative to life.

Because he has a stronger affinity for stage plays, Fiifi disclosed that with Fiifi Coleman Productions, he is providing more Ghanaian performers who are accustomed to performing on TV with the chance to take the stage.
