Former Asante Kotoko CEO, Opoku Nti, has been praised for his role in the club’s success during his time in charge. Serving as interim CEO for three months, Nti focused on building a stable management structure, which ultimately led to the team’s triumph in both the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup in 2014.

Nti’s approach to leadership involved regular one-on-one meetings with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II until a board was put in place. He believed that maintaining continuity within the technical team was key to achieving success on the field. Despite facing pressure to dismiss the coach at the time, Didi Dramani, Nti stood firm in his decision to keep him on board.

“Immediately I took over they wanted to sack the coach [Didi Dramani] but I said no we need to maintain the coach because he has taken them through training for a while and he knows the boys,” Nti shared with Joy Sports. “So it went well right from the beginning because we were having a stable management and the technical side wasn’t a problem.”
