According to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the nation is emerging from its struggles and getting ready for the future.
Despite earlier setbacks, the President of Ghana was confident that the country is currently on the road to recovery during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament on Tuesday, February 27.
We made a mistake, Mr. Speaker, but we’re getting back up. Although we were hurt, we are recovering. We are back on solid ground. Now that we’ve picked ourselves up, we can confidently face tomorrow. We pray and hope that misfortune will spare our loved ones, our communities, and our country every day.
However, if misfortune befalls us, we must face it head-on, like people with a proud past who fight and do not run away. I am yenim; nim adwane. That embodies the spirit of Ghana. That is our shield and armour. This is who we are,” he said.
In addition, the President disclosed during his speech that the government will soon launch a performance tracker, a tool designed to guarantee accountability and transparency in the implementation of infrastructure projects across the nation.
He states that the tracker will go live in March of this year. According to him, the tracker will assist in resolving long-standing issues with project presentations’ dependability and accuracy, particularly with regard to the use of artists’ impressions to represent results.
During his speech, the president underlined the importance of maintaining standards and providing the public with measurable outcomes.
