Jewel Kilcher (born May 23, 1974) is a singer-songwriter, actress, and author from the United States. She has four Grammy Award nominations and has sold over 30 million albums globally as of 2021.

Jewel grew up near Homer, Alaska, singing and yodeling in a pair with her father, local artist Atz Kilcher. She obtained a partial scholarship to the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan when she was fifteen, where she studied operatic voice. She began writing and performing at bars and coffeehouses in San Diego, California, after graduation.

In May 1996, Ty Murray purchased the first acreage, which totaled slightly over 120 acres and included a 1,388-square-foot residence. Murray purchased about 1,600 additional acres in July 1997, which included a 3,025-square-foot residence. His most recent ranch land grab came in February 2003, when he added 200 acres to the total.

Many shots from Jewel’s 2006 song “Stephenville, TX” were shot on the property.

Jewel Kilcher, the second child of Atz Kilcher and Nedra Kilcher (Carroll), was born on May 23, 1974, in Payson, Utah. Her parents were living in Utah with her older brother, Shane, at the time of her birth; her father was a student at Brigham Young University.
