She has developed activities as an editor, advisor, and campaign manager on environmental issues in Uruguay, Brazil, Sweden, and Mexico.
She participated in the controlling board of Friends of the Earth International, sharing its vice-presidency. She has extensive experience in criticism, documentation, and particularly on issues related to biological and cultural diversity, genetic resources, intellectual property, biopiracy, transgenics, and corporate globalization, among others. She is a columnist for the newspaper La Jornada in Mexico and a member of the editorial committee of the Latin American magazine
