Susan Alexandra Weaver was born in Manhattan, New York City, on October 8, 1949. Sigourney was born into the entertainment business as the only child of NBC President and Executive Pat Weaver and English actress Elizabeth Inglis. Susan adopted the name “Sigourney” after discovering that a character with the same name appears in the 1963 novel “The Great Gatsby.”
