Graphic artist and educator Shyqri Nimani was an Albanian Kosovar who lived from 6 May 1941 to 22 June 2023.

He was one of the founding members of the Graphic Design division at the Faculty of Arts, University of Pristina, as well as one of the first established professional graphic designers in Albania.

Shyqri Nimani was born in Shkodër, Albania, on May 6, 1941. His father, Ramiz Shyqri Nimani, was an officer in the Albanian Kingdom, and his mother, Hatmane Batusha, was a homemaker.

He had one brother, Genc, who was born in Skopje in 1943.

His best-known creations include the Grand Hotel logo, the University of Prishtina emblem, the “117” movie poster, the Kosova/UNMIK first stamps,[6] the Kosova Film logo, and the layout and illustrations for the Jesenin books.

Nimani’s career included work in art, music, and haiku poetry in addition to graphic design. From Japanese to Albanian, he translated “100 Haiku”.

Nimani was also noted for having calligraphed the 2008 Kosovo Declaration of Independence declaration.
