Shilla Alhassan, a former Asante Kotoko striker, has placed blame on assistant coach David Ocloo for the poor performance of the club in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors have been struggling in the league and currently sit in 11th place with 33 points. This downward spiral continued as they suffered their seventh loss in nine league matches against Dreams FC on Sunday.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Shilla Alhassan expressed his concerns about the assistant coach’s contribution to the team. He stated, “Ocloo is not helping the team. He is not assisting the coach during these difficult times. Ocloo was with Hearts of Oak last season and did not meet expectations
The team is currently confused and Ocloo is supposed to provide support, but he is only speaking on behalf of the club.”
As the Porcupine Warriors gear up to face league leaders Samartex in their upcoming match on Sunday, there are further concerns within the club.
The Life Patron of Asante Kotoko, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for an emergency meeting in light of the team’s struggles.
The meeting, scheduled for Thursday, April 19, 2024, will involve discussions with the playing body and the Interim Management Committee to address the recent challenges facing the club.
