Afua Asantewaa’s latest effort to set a new Guinness World Record has sparked a contentious debate between dancehall performer Shatta Wale and entertainment journalist Arnold Asamoah Baidoo.
Surprisingly, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo claimed that Afua Asantewaa had already been informed of the outcome of her attempt but had chosen to keep quiet because of the lucrative offers she was receiving.
Even though a lot of companies had backed Afua in hopes that she would break the record, he said that if she didn’t tell Guinness World Records what happened, she may lose out on important commercial prospects and relationships.
He also emphasized the need for honesty and openness in upholding stakeholder trust.
Dancehall king Shatta Wale responded by vehemently defending Afua Asantewaa and calling Arnold’s critic’s dismissal “nonsensical.”
Shatta Wale urged Ghanaians not to defame Afua because of her botched record effort, saying it should not lessen her value as a brand ambassador.
Arnold swiftly corrected Shatta Wale and questioned his sense of reason on the matter.
