Shatta Wale remanded for one week as Nana Romeo gets police invite

The Accra Regional Criminal Investigations Department has written to the manager of Accra FM to release Nana Romeo, the host of “Ayekoo Ayekoo”, and a footage of his interview with Jesus Ahuofe.

 The CID in a letter sighted by Pulse.com.gh, said they are investigating a case of publication of false news involving accused Jesus Ahoufe, legally known as Bishop Stephen Akwasi Appiah.

The Police said the accused pastor made a statement on the program that Shataa Wale, will be attached and shot dead on October 18, 2021, just like popular South African reggae star, Lucky Dube in 2007.

The Police are demanding a copy of the recorded version of the program to assist in the investigation. 

They also requested for the release of the host, Nana Romeo to report to them on Friday, 22nd October 2021.IMAGEvertical_align_centermore_vert

Read the statement below; 

“ The Accra Regional Criminal Investigations Department ( AR/RCID) of the Ghana Police Service is investigating a case of publication of false news involving accused Bishop Stephen Akwasi Appiah”.

“On 28/2021, the accused made a statement on the program ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’ that a popular Ghanaian dance hall artiste called Charles Nii Armah Mensah will be attacked and shot dead on 18/10/21, as popular South African musician, Lucky Dube was killed in 2007.”

“ We would appreciate it if you could release a copy of the video recording of the program to assist in our investigations. We would also request that you release the host of the program mentioned above to report to us on 22/10/21 at 10:00 am to assist us in this investigation.

 “We thank you in anticipation of cooperation in to katter”.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale, the said pastor, and two others have been denied bail by an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21st, 2021.

They have been remanded in Police custody to reappear in Court on October 26, 2021.

Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty to the charge causing fear and panic.
