Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has found himself in hot water after making mocking remarks about fellow artiste Stonebwoy.

The management team of Shatta Wale, Shatta Movement Records, has issued an apology to the Ghana Society of Physically Disabled (GSPD) for the controversial comments made by their artiste.

In a statement addressing the issue, Shatta Movement Empire clarified that Shatta Wale did not intend to offend or ridicule individuals with disabilities. The Empire stated that the artiste’s statement was misinterpreted and was meant to emphasize the importance of treating others with respect.

“We understand that the wording of the statement may have been insensitive and we acknowledge the concerns raised. We value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society,” the statement read.

The Empire pledged to promote inclusivity and understanding, promising to be more mindful of their words and actions in the future. This comes after Shatta Wale made derogatory remarks about Stonebwoy, insinuating that he was weak for boycotting the Abeka Salahfest.

The GSPD demanded an apology from Shatta Wale and requested him to retract his statement, stating that such primitive comments should not come from a high-profile personality. Despite the society giving Shatta Wale a seven-day ultimatum to apologize, the artiste responded by questioning their motives and refusing to comply with their request.

“You can’t create a problem for me, I am a problem myself,” Shatta Wale defiantly stated in response to the ultimatum. The artiste also criticized the society, pointing out the existence of various associations, including the “Unemployed People Association.”

The controversy surrounding Shatta Wale’s remarks serves as a reminder of the importance of being mindful of one’s words and actions, especially when it comes to sensitive issues such as disabilities.
