Shatta Wale has been crowned the artiste of the year at the just ended 3Music Awards held at the Fantasy Dome at Accra International Trade Fair Centre.
He swept eight awards on the night including the topmost award, “Song of the Year”.
His hit dancehall song “Gringo” – which was released under Zylofon Music – did the magic last night, helping him to cling the ultimate award.
Shatta Wale grabbed three awards with “Gringo”; “Viral Song of the Year”, “Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year” and “Video of the Year.”
To prove his heavy digital presence, the “Ayoo” hitmaker picked up the “Digital Act of the Year” and in addition won the “Fan Army of the Year” – thanks to his fans.
He beat his top dancehall opponents, Samini and Stonebwoy, to win the “Reggae Dancehall Act of the Year” award.
He then walked home with the “Best Male Act of the Year” and the overall “Song of the Year” with his hit song “My Level.”
