Shannen Doherty has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for years, and she is not giving up. After receiving her initial breast cancer diagnosis in 2015, Doherty had radiation, chemotherapy, and a mastectomy. In 2017, she declared herself to be in remission.
She disclosed that the cancer had returned in 2020 and was at stage 4. The former cast member of “Charmed” revealed earlier this year that the disease had progressed to her brain and that she had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from her brain, which she named Bob. After receiving radiation and chemotherapy, she declared herself to be in remission in 2017.
However, Doherty disclosed in February 2020 that following five years of remission, her breast cancer has returned to stage 4. She revealed on Instagram earlier this year that the cancer had progressed from her chest to her brain and was now terminal when she shared a video of herself undergoing chemotherapy.
She adds that “her greatest memory is yet to come” and that she wants to recover with the availability of clinical trials and new cancer treatments.
